Engineering Standards, Quality and Confidentiality

How our calculations are produced and checked, which codes they follow, and how your plant data is handled.

Codes and Standards

Thermal designs are developed to meet the international codes and standards applicable to the equipment, the fuel and the project. The governing codes for a specific scope are identified and confirmed in the proposal before work starts, because they affect sizing, material selection and the documentation you will need for approval.

For steam system pressure safety valve capacity calculations, the work follows ASME and the other applicable international standards, covering relieving scenarios such as fire case and blocked outlet, set pressure and accumulation, and inlet and outlet pressure drop.

Where a project is governed by a client specification or a statutory requirement in the country of installation, that requirement is treated as the governing document and the design is developed to satisfy it.

How a Calculation Is Produced

Stated basis

Every calculation starts from a written design basis: duty, operating conditions, fuel data, ambient data and the operating cases to be evaluated, including part load.

Listed assumptions

Where data is missing, the assumption is written down rather than buried in a spreadsheet, so you can challenge it or replace it with measured data later.

Independent check

Calculations and documents are reviewed before issue. Review comments are closed in writing, and the issued revision reflects them.

Auditable output

Reports are structured so a third party, a licensor or a statutory inspector can follow the method from the basis to the result.

Confidentiality and Data Handling

Plant data, drawings, operating logs and commercial information are treated as confidential and are used only for your project. A non disclosure agreement can be signed before any data is shared. Project data is not published, reused as an example, or shown to other clients without written permission.

Scope and Limits

ThermoExpert provides engineering consultancy. Our deliverables support, but do not replace, the manufacturer’s design responsibility, statutory inspection and certification, or the operator’s duty to run and maintain the plant safely. Recommendations are based on the data supplied to us, and a design is only as good as the operating data behind it.

Where we verify a design produced by others, our review covers the documents provided and the standards named in the scope. It is a technical review, not a statutory certification.
